Hot Dogs

Posted by Braden

Yesterday I cooked my fifth real meal here at BYU. In the process, I discovered the truth about hot dogs: they're not so bad after all; in fact, they're the very cheapest meat at the grocery store! They're not steak by any means, but they're not particularly disgusting either, and not bad for the price. So I cooked up some rice, microwaved the dog, melted some cheese, opened a can of peas, and ate up!

I guess you've got to start somewhere with cooking, eh?

Dang, that looks good!!!

Here's another great recipe:

Heat up a little oil in a pan
Add a chopped onion, a couple of cubed potatoes and cook 'em up. I'm trying to lose weight so I only add a little oil and then end up having to add some water because the potatoes stick to the pan something dreadful.

After a bit, add two or three thinly sliced hot dogs. Heat through.

Serve. Enjoy. It is imperative that you eat it with ketchup, and possibly some mayo and/or barbeque sauce.

Voila! Poorman's Meal a la Clara. (You can find her and some other nifty depression era recipes on youtube).
