Struggling on Sundays!
Posted by Ashley
Sundays are hard for me. It's difficult not having my family with me at church and having dinner together. Four of my roommates are from Utah. The other one used to live in Utah and has a ton of family who lives here. So most of my roommates go home every Sunday to see family. During the week I am so busy with school that it's hard to have time to think about home. But on Sundays I sure do get homesick.

I know exactly how you feel. I had it the same way. And though I had aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. about an hour away, I had no way to get there. So I joined the choir. It gave me something to look forward to, helped me make friends with people in the ward, and was also a way to do service. I started taking a lot of walks around campus, finding spots where I could commune with the spirit and write in my journal. Sundays were also our call home days in the family, so it was nice to have those conversations. And soon I found others who were in similar situations as me, and we would plan Sunday appropriate activities together at times. Sundays began as the hardest, but soon became the best day of the week. It truly was my day of rest and rejuvenation.
